WHO AM I
I am Jed, a 27-year-old combat designer based in Atlanta, Georgia. I am an alum of Georgia State University, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded designers to create games within Unreal Engine and Unity. During my studies, I had the privilege of being a part of my school’s game development club(PantherDev), which grew from a mere 11 members to over 60 members during my college career. As part of PantherDev, I learned the ropes of designing games within Unity in a relatively stress-free zone and was able to learn about the dangers of feature creep.
I have been designing games for almost 8 years now, and I am constantly pushing myself to go further with every new project. Through the projects I worked on, I often got fixated on creating the enemy behavior. With each project I work on, I always want to outdo the AI systems I had previously created. As a designer, I find the process of analyzing the games I play and exploring new ways of approaching problems to be a valuable experience. Some of the games that have impressed me as a designer are Max Payne, Death Stranding, Skate Story, The Last Of Us Part 2, and Ghost of Yotei.
I have previously attended events such as Atlanta Dream Hack, Momocon, and GDC. In 2019, I attended my first GDC as a representative for PantherDev. Currently, I am an active member of Atlanta Game Devs, and regularly attend their monthly meetups.
I am currently looking for my first Industry position.
